I had to take an unexpected trip to my home town (Sioux Falls) on Friday. While there I revisited the St. Joseph Cathedral Church for some needed quiet time. I explained to the tour guide that I now lived out of town but have loved this building since childhood and would really love to have a few shots for my collection. She open the door and let me roam freely, allowing me to photograph anything I wanted!!! She then went on to explain to my husband that there was a "private" sanctuary in the back where 24 hour prayer was being offered and that I was more than welcome to go in as long as I remained SILENT. Being given this rare opportunity really made the whole visit for me!

Now for the facts:
St. Joseph Cathedral was built in 1889 and was remodeled in 1902 and again in 1972, where it has remained the same since...however remodeling is scheduled again for the year 2005..

I am not a big fan of huge sets and feel as tho some may not even look at them all, but in the instance I am sharing the whole bunch at one time.. Please view them all, there are some great ones at the end...
